Utopia Academy

At Utopia, we offer a variety of development pathways for gymnasts who want to train two or more days a week and work towards competition.

Our pathways span Women’s Artistic, General, Sports Acrobatics and Tumbling, giving gymnasts the opportunity to develop their skills in the discipline that suits them best.

Our competitive pathway for gymnasts who are ready to take their training to the next level

Utopia Academy is for gymnasts who are ready to take their training to the next level. Whether they have developed through our recreational programme or joined us with existing experience, our Academy gymnasts are supported to develop a desire to improve, a willingness to work hard and an enthusiasm for learning and competing. We aim to support each gymnast to develop their ability, confidence and potential at their own pace.

Being part of the Academy is about more than natural ability. Commitment, attitude, resilience and a willingness to learn are just as important. Gymnasts need to be prepared to train consistently, listen to their coaches, challenge themselves and work as part of a team. We want to nurture gymnasts who are passionate about improving and excited to see how far they can go.

Since 2018, we've been developing gymnasts from a Yorkshire grassroots background, supporting them on their journey from their first competitions through to regional and national level. Every gymnast's journey is different, and our aim is to help each one reach their own potential - wherever that may take them.

Could the Academy be right for your gymnast?

Academy places are offered by invitation or assessment, based on a gymnast's current ability, potential, attitude and readiness for the commitment that competitive training brings. If your child already trains with us, speak to their coach about whether the Academy could be their next step. New to Utopia? Get in touch and we'll arrange an assessment session to see where your gymnast is currently at and whether our Academy pathway is the right fit for them.
